FAQ

How can I use these images?

First of all, you DO NOT have to give credit or attribution for the photos you use (but I won’t stop you if you feel inclined to). However, please do not claim these images as your own.

You can use these images on your:

Website – backgrounds, banners, headers, side bar, buttons etc.

Social media – Facebook covers, Pinterest Photos, Instagram images, Blog Post graphics

Newsletters– Email headers, Call to Action Imagery

Branding – Create your business cards, overlay your products, display your design work if you’re an artist or designer etc.,

How can I find something to fit my brand?

I recommend that you start by searching under the categories section to filter out skin tones you require or if you prefer to use a plain flat lay surface. From there, you can narrow your results based on the type of image you need: verticals, colours, message type etc.

Can I use your images on a product I sell or giveaway (e.g ebook, print, free desktop download?)

Unfortunately, no. As per our usage agreement you may not use an image (or part of an image) on an item you will be selling (such as adding text to a photo and selling as print) or giving away in mass quantity (such as a free desktop download). The exception is traditional business cards or print collateral that are a part of YOUR branded client experience. Anything else where you are selling, loaning or giving away our images to a third party for them to use is frowned upon and against our terms and conditions.

Are there any additional charges after the membership fee?

Nopey, Nope, No, Nada, Ziltch! What you see is what you get (depending on the membership plan you choose) but you have the option to get UNLIMITED and FREE access to all the existing and upcoming photos in the library for the duration of your membership. No need to pay each image as long as you remain a member.

Are your stock images layered so that I can move props around?

The short answer is no. In order to keep the integrity of the styling, We do not layer our images. We put a lot of time and thought into the relationship of each prop and placement and want your finished product to look as natural and luxurious as it should coming from a commercial stylist! Let us take that tedious job of styling off your hands so that you can get back to doing what you are best at in your business!

Having said that, you can crop the images to give your images a different look and feel. Have a look at this tutorial for some ideas.

Do I need photoshop to add/overlay my products? How do I edit?

Most of our customers do use either Photoshop or Illustrator to add their designs to their stock. You can also use a free online program like Canva or PicMonkey. Check out this tutorial on how you can edit your images.

What size are the images?

These are large files can be used online or in print. They are approximately: 5100 x 3100 pixels in size (Jpeg format) saved in high resolution at 300 PPI. You can always resize and save them in a lower resolution for quicker and easier upload for online usage.

How many photos can I download after becoming a member? Do I need photoshop to add/overlay my products?  How do I edit?

(Clears throat) As many as you like! Whenever you like! – depending on the membership plan you choose ofcourse. These images will always be here for you, so no need to fill up your hard drive if you don’t need to use the images immediately. This is now YOUR library. How many photos are currently in the stock library?

There are currently 300+ images in the library and this number is growing each week. My aim is to have thousands of gorgeous, mouth watering images in the library for you to use whenever you please. I’m in this for the long haul, I hope you are with me on this one too.

Q: How can I get more than one use out of an image?

A: We love this question! All images are styled and shot in the highest resolution with great attention to detail so that you can crop each one down for endless uses! For example, the same desktop styling can be used as a home page banner with a shop announcement on your website, cropped into a header image and overlaid with your logo for your Etsy shop, used as the background for your Twitter page, cropped and overlaid with your logo for a blog header, cropped into a vertical and overlaid with text for use on your blog and pinned to Pinterest and then copped into a square and overlaid with text to make an announcement on Instagram…just to name a few ways!!
We recommend checking out our Pinterest example board, the #50shadesofblackstock hashtags and follow us on Instagram to get inspired by how others are using their images!
